Re: God's Economy is in faith

Nothing wrong with the practice calling on the Lord, It should not be a mechanical exercise. It should not be a competition display of who can do it the loudest.
If the intent of calling on the...

Re: Open - Interactive Letter to The Co-Workers in The Lord's Recovery

Titus Chu is still active. Just not affiliated with LSM. Same goes for churches such as the Church in Toronto. Those who wanted to remain loyal to LSM, broke away from the Church in Toronto to meet...

Re: What's Goin Down Down Under - Australia, New Zeland and South Pacific

If you examine history more closely the local churches have an remarkable similarities with the Brethren movement of the 19th century.
There are other exclusive closed groups like the Plymouth...

Re: Three questions for Local Church Christians

If I may interpret what Ohio is saying here,
Witness Lee was not the only brother discipled by Watchman Nee. There were many others.
What happened to them? We know Witness Lee and Stephen Kaung...

Re: Three questions for Local Church Christians

Elders & Co-workers often speak as if they are the absolute authority, but it's without love.

1 Corinthians 13
If I speak with the tongues of mankind and of angels, but do not have love, I have...

"I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us. So when I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, spreading malicious nonsense about us. Not...

Re: Open - Interactive Letter to The Co-Workers in The Lord's Recovery

Jay, I think you'll find on this forum many equate the local church ground as a doctrine of dirt. My dad and mom still adhere to the ground doctrine. Others I know still do even if the end result is...

Re: Open - Interactive Letter to The Co-Workers in The Lord's Recovery

I had posted that a time or two on this forum. Years ago there used to be a YouTube video regarding Witness Lee speaking the exact message. However Living Stream Ministry did not print his message...

Re: Merged Thread: Ron Kangas

It comes back to brothers believing they are God's deputy authorities which may explain the pride, assuming to be above reproach, and apparent exemption to accountability.

Re: Open - Interactive Letter to The Co-Workers in The Lord's Recovery

It's more about the attitude claiming to be the only legitimate churches in the city. Let's take Renton for example. I've met with denominational and non-denominational assemblies. Each professing to...

Re: Merged Thread: Ron Kangas

Whatever happened to GF or BS? I thought they were elders as well or at least were when I was there along with Jim. It was Jim along with BS who came to my home before I began meeting with the Church...

Re: Merged Thread: Ron Kangas

When it comes to the local churches it's hard not to quote James 2 or any part of James. Same would apply to Proverbs.

Janes 2:15-16
Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily...

Re: “THE FALSE TRUMPET STILL SOUNDS” - by a former member.

I had heard, but not delved into further the book known as 'The Economy of God" was based on Witness Lee's notes from a T.A. Sparks message.

Re: “THE FALSE TRUMPET STILL SOUNDS” - by a former member.

When I first really got into reading Nee, is when the alarm bells started going off. When Watchman Nee was saying did not coincide what I was seeing in Bellevue and the local churches in general....

Re: Merged Thread: Ron Kangas

The same applies when you or I use early Lee to critique "The Lords' Recovery". It's either you're using the ministry to attack the ministry or you're taking out of context.

Re: Merged Thread: Ron Kangas

When I was meeting with Renton, the lead elder has since passed. He was the most capable in regard to being personable. The ones as found at https://secure.dor.wa.gov/gteunauth/_/#2 struck me as...

Re: The Empire Strikes Back, Minoru Chen battles Nigel Tomes.

Autonomous only in the sense of setting meeting times. In every other sense, they're ministry churches.
In my time the only local church close to being autonomous was Spokane. I'm sure much changed...

Re: Open - Interactive Letter to The Co-Workers in The Lord's Recovery

I think it is hypocritical will take the road to sectarianism.
Hypocritical in the sense. Take for example the pseudo Blended MR from Bellevue. Paraphrasing an example he gave regarding the local...

Re: 1,000 Years of Outer Darkness

I would the combination of 1000 years outer darkness/being on overcomer is too much an emphasis in the local churches. I'd agree it is a driving force in the LC. Brothers and sisters lose sight of...

Re: Open - Interactive Letter to The Co-Workers in The Lord's Recovery

"The Recovery" does seem like an offshoot of the Exclusive Brethren or perhaps Nee and Lee borrowed what they got from it.
After my family and I stopped meeting with the Church in Renton, we began...

Re: Merged Thread: Ron Kangas

I think it all goes back to the teaching and practice of deputy authority. Brothers whether elders or deacons actually believe they are God's representatives on earth. I heard those claims. That's my...

Re: More questions

It is a catch-22. On one hand we don't want "responsible ones" knowing about home lives of the saints. On the other hand we want the "responsible ones" to show care. It's not so easy. I think that's...
