Defining the LCM's authority roles

In the short time that I was attending the LC, I picked up on a number of terms used that seemed to signify different roles within the church, but nobody ever seemed to want to define exactly what...

Re: Justification for One City-One Church dogma?

See, here you're conflating "the church" with "expressions of the church". There can be people who meet separately, and still be all members of the same universal church, even if they don't...

Re: Blatant contradictions

It seems to vary, I've met saints who paid for everything on their own, and others who were either sponsored by a locality, or a private donor. Tuition isn't terribly expensive, but I guess if they...

Re: Blatant contradictions

I'm sure this has been noted on the forum before, but according to 1 Cor. 6, the right thing to do when a disagreement arises between believers, is to resolve it amongst each other, never to take it...

Re: Justification for One City-One Church dogma?

That's a good point, the LCs like to play with semantics, claiming that they can still uphold the one city-one church idea while splitting into "districts". Just because they use the terms "locality"...

Re: Blatant contradictions

I've attended churches before which I would genuinely call non-denominational, and they are nothing like what goes on at the LCs. Generally services take place in someone's home, a community center...

Re: Justification for One City-One Church dogma?

Evangelical,

Even if we take your interpretation of Rev. 1:11 as accurate, that still doesn't provide justification for the practices of the Local Church Movement. If we consider that there is...

Re: Blatant contradictions

Nell, that's an interesting document, I notice several of the salaried officers were speakers at the memorial day conference.
Their highest-compensated contractor is Hiram Builders, which aligns...

Re: Age of 35

At the international memorial day conference in New York this past weekend, the co-worker giving the final message declared that too many young saints had been prophesying, thus depriving us of...

Re: Blatant contradictions

FYI I'm the one who posted as "JS" last night, my account is now active.

Sorry if what I posted sounded more like complaining than constructive criticism.

Justification for One City-One Church dogma?

As far as I can tell, the entire concept of having one church per city seems to be an almost childishly simplistic reading of Paul's letters which refer to the church in some particular city. If we...
