Re: Signs of Decline in LSMs Recovery - Tomes

Still at it, eh?

Grace to you all, but this morning I was reminded that the Lord still speaks in my speaking. I don't know why I was led here after that but I'm definitely not settling in to...

Re: A blast from the past

Setting aside for the moment how much Christ may or may not have been "dispensed" during trainings and other Local Church activities, "deprogramming" is nothing more than counter-brainwashing and I'm...

Re: The Cost

The "prudent wisdom" you seek is in the words of scripture, Ohio.

Don't worry about what the separate camps use to separate themselves...

Re: The Cost

Quoting verses out of context to support my opinion or to refute those of another is a religious game I don't play any more.

I'm sorry you think that's what I was doing.

Grace to you.

Re: The Cost

Brother?

I don't believe this is "neutral" with regard to Paul's teaching on how to have tongues in the Christian meeting, is it?

If someone says, as one prominent local pastor told me one...

Re: The Cost

I doubt it's the middle, Ohio! LOL

Paul gives explicit instructions on how to handle it in a meeting. I'm neither for nor against for my own part but if you're going to do it different from the...

1Cr 13:2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

Re: The Cost

I just recently saw clearly that 1 Cor. 13 comes between chapters 12 and 14.

The "Love Chapter" is all about how we meet.

Marriage is nowhere mentioned in that chapter and teaching it as if...

Re: My open apology--To those who have gone before

Today I finally understood 1 Cor. 13's placement between chapters 12 and 14.

The whole section is just Paul admonishing the Corinthian believers to grow up and meet together in authentic Christian...

Re: Peter and James and John

That is the filter I've also had for some time now and that's at least the larger part of how everyone in a religious bondage of one kind or another got themselves there.

I'm not leaving that...

Re: Peter and James and John

Well, not to quibble, but Matthew can at least reasonably be read to agree with John on who it was that wanted to kill Jesus:

My point was that sweeping term is John's, which I was surprised...

Re: Two letters from captivity

Reviewing John's gospel account over a few days, a couple of things I've noticed.

Two things are found in this one verse. One is John's use of the phrase "The Jews". Now please take note...

Re: Peter and James and John

Absolutely.

If for no other reason than to remind us of that other verse we've forgotten, the fellowship with other believers is clearly a necessary component of any serious study of the Bible.

Re: Peter and James and John

Even that statement is a problem, aron.

There is a chronological narrative buried within the Bible but it is generally NOT presented chronologically.

Re: Witness Lee on Elders Needing to be Ezras

I think this is true but I continue to question how aware Lee was of the natural and predictable output of his program. I don't think he really intended to build the Local Church as his legacy. I...

I've actually been saying this since 1989 to whoever would hear me, and many others have as well. The Internet has just allowed all of us who recognize this to stand up and be counted at last.
