Re: If you were in Scottsdale would you take the Table..

It's like a pyramid. In practice if attitudes change it begins with the blended co-workers. Cascades down to local elders and maybe then to congregations of each locality.
This is due in part to the...

Re: If you were in Scottsdale would you take the Table..

I will use Moses Lake, Washington as a frame of reference. Broke with LSM in 1986, but still consider themselves a local church. When I was meeting with the church in Bellevue in the 1990's once of...

Re: Politics and the Church

While I agree with ZNP's criticism of Trump from the last line of his post in #3513, there is a transparent discrepancy in regard to the media's projection of Obama versus the media's projection of...

Re: Would a LC saint take the Table with us?

A bigger question is can there be "same appearance and same shining" without Living Stream Ministry influences?
If the answer is yes, I say amen.
If the answer is no, then I say what we have are...

Re: Would a LC saint take the Table with us?

Not everyone meeting in the local churches may feel this way, but ones I have spoken to would abstain from taking the table.

Re: Would a LC saint take the Table with us?

I would even say even to basics of meeting house to house. If the home meetings is not based on LSM publications, the fellowship is considered illegitimate. Thus no interest to meet with a non-LSM...

Re: Would a LC saint take the Table with us?

I am not. It's not about what name is being taken than it is about the assembly you meet with. Do they have a relationship with LSM? If not, they meet in division because of not meeting on the proper...

Re: Relationships/Courting

That was my experience. Now I realize through younger generations and not only me that parents who came into the local churches raising their children in the local churches have/had no clue the...

Re: Would a LC saint take the Table with us?

Best way I can explain is ones meeting with the local churches believe they're meeting in oneness and everyone else is meeting divisively. May come and meet, but to take communion would be considered...

Re: Doug Krieger testimony

I'm curious, what happened in Abq? My family was there summer 73-to end of 75. I was only 6-8 years old at the time.

Re: Witness Lee's church puts women's virginity above anything

Not only, but it's very misleading. One of this forum's members had a testimony included in FPR. Said his testimonies were copied and pasted from different dates giving the appearance of a fluid...

Re: Does "Baptist" Mean to a Baptist What "Recovery" Means..

Forgiveness in the local churches is like a minefield. Forgiveness is an individual matter and not a corporate matter. From brother to brother and from sister to sister there may be forgiveness to...

Re: Witness Lee's church puts women's virginity above anything

When I read FPR, it was just the opposite. The books content went against every fiber of my being. Of course when you have only one side of the story to rely on, how do you rebuff such a claim? All I...

Re: An Unknown Follower Of Jesus

Only ones credited in the hymnal are ones that are copyrighted. Hymns attributed to Witness Lee, it could be really his or it could be ones written by someone else, but Lee's taking the credit for it.

Re: How the LCM Affects Personality

Their feeling may very well be based on a rumor rather than facts. Those rumors become their feeling on which the fellowship flows from. Facts obfuscate their understanding.

What If?

Underline and bolding my emphasis.
Trapped, it could be when "responsible brothers" use the phrase fellowship you might as well reinsert with the word feeling or opinion. That's what it amounts to....

Re: How the LCM Affects Personality

When I was a single brother I had heard roughly the same thing in regard to marriage. "You remain single until you're ready for marriage."

Re: Do you think that highest truth of Witnesse Lee can satisfy your hunger

Same can be said about the local churches. That it can leave someone unfulfilled. I've visited Catholic churches and I found it equally unfulfilling.
Result is to meet with an assembly where one...

Re: How the LCM Affects Personality

I was told something quite different. When it came to college and prospective careers, "it should be practical for the church-life".
Could certainly pray over which school to attend. What if the...

Re: How the LCM Affects Personality

This can all be related to "submission and authority". Those older than you, submit. Those older than you even if they're wrong they're still right. This behavior translates into the workplace where...

Re: Poor, poor Christianity...

Poor poor Christianity. Those of us who were raised in the local churches may very well regard as nothing more than a catch phrase. When the local church is your only church experience, there's...

Re: Kaung and Lee Lines in America - A History

Agreed JJ. Though I will say pre-1986 the local churches did a better job of receiving visitors. At least that was my experience in S.B., CA. Whether a Lord's Day meeting or Young People's meeting,...

Re: Question of salvation and reconciliation.

That's all it can be called is teaching. It's no practice. Just as you say Ohio, history tells us otherwise.
Obviously reconciliation is a concept and not a spiritual responsibility.
The track...
