Re: Glad

I've never heard/read that. Do you remember where I can find it in his writing? Or at least which verses he used to arrive at that idea?

Re: The Psalms are the word of Christ

Could you elaborate on this Aaron. The footnotes at the beginning of Psalms are one of the things that really got me started looking into what exactly I was being told.

Re: Hope for all you church kids

1. If you're questioning the church life, don't shut down those questions-- investigate! Find the truth.

This is exactly what the Church disapproves of and openly tells people not to do, warning...

Re: Outer Darkness?

This is one of the most interesting topics ( it's been discussed here before) to me, not just as a Christian but as a former LCer. Their air of superiority is at least in part, rooted in there...

Re: Outer Darkness?

I have friends in the LC who have resigned themselves, because of this teaching, to never being overcomes. They literally told me, "we'll never be overcomers, but, oh well." It's almost a joke. They...

Re: Does "Baptist" Mean to a Baptist What "Recovery" Means to an LCer?

Does LSM/the LC still make the claim that they are God's unique (exclusive?) move on the earth?

Re: Myth Busters LCD Style Program 1

Aron, The so called high gospel is fundamental to understanding the LC mentality. It provides another way in which to separate themselves and feel superior (higher) than other Christians. All of...

Re: Deceptions on Campus

I remember being in a meeting when it was annouced that CRI had changed their position on the LC. Copies of the "We Were Wrong" issue were passed out and we were told triumphantly, "show your friends...

Re: Relationships/Courting

This was exactly my experience. I remember reading one of the Psalms once in a small group. I wondered, as in saying, " I wonder..." if what the footnote said about there being some Psalms that were...

Re: Deceptions on Campus

I should take my own advice from another thread and ignore you in the future. You're intentionally obfuscating. Like I said, your posts are perfect example of the kind of deception practiced by the...

Re: Deceptions on Campus

Embarrassment? Do you feel embarrassment when you say things that make sense? I do not, and the false care in your snide remark betrays an insecurity that must be growing within you as you read more...

This is hilarious. It's like watching someone unfamiliar with how the internet can actually work...
No one except such a person, and especially not a college student, would be so general in their...

Re: Out of Egypt

Mentally and spiritually, I left slowly. Physically my family and I left from week to the next. Without word. (But certainly with the Word).

I, like LifeGoesOn, shared my enjoyment from the...

Re: Out of Egypt

I know we are not supposed to have so called natural relationships or what is strangely called natural preference in the LC, but this must be a rhetorical question.

If not the elders, at least...

LifeGoesOn,
Since your and my experience in the LC is pretty similar, I am looking forward to reading your part II.

Re: Apostles in The Church: Yesterday and Today

I agree with you. I didn't know personally know people that would respond in the ways these have, but I have heard them and know there are not just a few. I don't think they represent the LC's...

Re: Apostles in The Church: Yesterday and Today

I haven't been active here for a while, but I've been reading a lot of what's being written here. There are 3 obvious trolls here, and I think Igzy has put it perfectly. I can't believe the amount of...

Re: ground of locality and generality

This was an interesting meeting to say the least...the ground of the Church, (oneness based on locality ) is more important than the Church's condition. I've never heard so many amens to things like...

Re: Putting To Test The Recovery Version

Yeah, this makes it clearer...I remember hearing or reading about how the Father is the Son is the Spirit...or something like that. I never really got too much into the life studies or the HWFMR. I...

Re: Putting To Test The Recovery Version

Really interesting thread.

It wasn't until I started read other versions that I started to feel the awkwardness of the Recovery version. I thought the Bible just sounded like that (I am thinking...

Re: Age Turners

This is exactly the problem as I see it. Overcomers are a special group of believers (not all believers will be overcomers) and the LC is where they will come from because they have something higher...

Re: The Psalms are the word of Christ

I agree with your last sentence. Itīs one of the things that I quickly tired of and caused me to stop reading the hwfmr.

In Hebrews 5:8 we see that, Even though Jesus was God's Son, he learned...

Re: Public Service Announcement

I grew up in the local church, and as I think I've said here before, of those with whom I grew up there are very few left. Maybe around 10%. A few left as a result of the storms, while others just...
