If the verses were properly translated, if woman was built from a "rib" from the side of the man, why does the verse say "of his flesh and of his bones"?
Why does it not it...

Re: Bone of My Bones & Flesh of My Flesh

I heard Lee say these words, in person, in a weekend conference, Irving, TX. However, when this message was reduced to print, as all his messages were, there was NOTHING in print regarding “man...

Re: Ron Kangas says Witness Lee is the greatest apostle since the apostle P

My message to the Local Church faithful, and all of us, is a prayer that helps keep me grounded: “Lord, please don’t let me be deceived, and Lord, I’ll do whatever you want me to do.”

If any...

Re: Ron Kangas says Witness Lee is the greatest apostle since the apostle P

Well, that’s the thing, isn’t it? The gospel is SIMPLE...so all who hear can believe and be saved. I was raised on the ABC steps in Vacation Bible School: Ask, Believe, Confess. I understood this as...

Re: Ron Kangas says Witness Lee is the greatest apostle since the apostle P

Who talks like this? Why does does this group need to credit Lee for any work of the Holy Spirit that may have been present?

Minoru Chen embodies the “spirit of Witness Lee”, and now Mr. Kangas...

Re: It's about life

Curious,

I think we can safely say that the functioning of our conscience which, with normal Christian values, speaks to right and wrong, often "on the spot". I don't believe this healthy function...

Re: Cal Strikes Again! Satire At It's Finest!

This is not satire...at one time she and I were good friends. She didn’t go to the meeting that night because she was sick.

Re: Finding Biblical Context For Women 'Are More Easily Deceived'

Re: Finding Biblical Context For Women 'Are More Easily Deceived'

Third request:
Refering to your statement above, my question is, do you believe "women are more easily deceived" because of her emotions? Do you believe some form of "emotions=deceived"?

Re: Finding Biblical Context For Women 'Are More Easily Deceived'

God created a perfect being, an angel, Lucifer, who rebelled and who God cast out of heaven. Lucifer wanted to be like God. The very thing Lucifer, as the subtle serpent tempted Eve with in the...

Re: Finding Biblical Context For Women 'Are More Easily Deceived'

Yet women are targeted. Women are stereotyped and punished.

I don’t disagree with your comments.

I asked SoG a question because of his comment. I would like to know where he’s coming from.

Re: Finding Biblical Context For Women 'Are More Easily Deceived'

Another possibility is that God himself later repeated directly to the woman, his command not to eat of the tree of knowledge. Total speculation, but possible.

Good question.

Gen. 3:6 says...

Re: Finding Biblical Context For Women 'Are More Easily Deceived'

StG,

My take:

I think it might be the emotional part that causes issues for men.

I wonder if that’s not a characteristic of man that causes him to perhaps equate the emotional part of woman...

Re: Finding Biblical Context For Women 'Are More Easily Deceived'

Bushnell believes the verses should be punctuated and translated as follows: (She's a Greek and Hebrew scholar so she's probably qualified!)

1 Tim. 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14...

Below is a passage from God's Word to Women by Katherine Bushnell. She was a medical doctor and a Greek and Hebrew scholar and a Christian writer who lived from 1855-1946.

The passage below puts...

Re: Finding Biblical Context For Women 'Are More Easily Deceived'

Here is what Witness Lee had to say about Rahab in the life study of Matthew #3:
K. Rahab
We proceed to Rahab (v. 5). Rahab was a harlot in Jericho (Josh. 2:1), a place cursed by God for eternity....

Re: The main problem with the LC

To me, the "main problem" with the Local Church is ignoring what Jesus said about "the church". Firstly, he didn't say "the church". He said "my church".

Matt. 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That...

Re: Christ Living through His Believers as the Best ____?

Nothing wrong with your comment. Maybe grammatically “Christ in me helps me to be the best husband” is a bit clearer, but that’s a stretch. I think you’re being “snookered”.

I’ve noticed lately a...
