Re: The Psalms are the word of Christ

Why should David the sinner have disqualified Psalm 16? Psalm 16 is about Christ because of Acts 2. Psalm 2 is also about Christ because of New Testament quotations.

A good test of whether a...

Re: Attending Different Churches: Divisive attitudes

Firstly, the legitimacy of a church and legitimacy of the speaking are two separate matters so I will address them one by one.

We can choose who we believe is God's oracle. Whether they are or...

Re: How do you know the Lord's leading?

I will try - my way of telling Aron "you could put more effort into answering the question than using it to attack the recovery". I have taken the Psalm thing to the other thread where it belongs....

Re: Attending Different Churches: Divisive attitudes

You have the choice to choose who you think is God's oracle or not, and which church you want to go to.

I thought you wanted simple answers, before you just wanted a yes or no answer, and I...

Re: The Psalms are the word of Christ

Let's test them then.

Is it Lee's fallen human concept to think that David's desire for God to slay his enemies was wrong? I would say no considering that David's rebellious son was God's...

Re: The Psalms are the word of Christ

Aron asked:

I have already explained to Aron that not all the answers to his questions are in the footnotes, but in the ministry books.

The short answer is that Psalm 3 is about David, his...

Re: The Psalms are the word of Christ

We discussed Psalm 16 and others in "Repetition, Ritual, Religion".

I explained that not everything Lee wrote is found in the bible footnotes. Some of what you are looking for is found in his...

Re: Attending Different Churches: Divisive attitudes

I can't type "no" that's why.

Yes, there's no doubt about the ability to exercise free will. People come and go and come again.

Re: How do you know the Lord's leading?

Well for all of your theories about the recovery version Bible, you're not doing a very good job at explaining how to know God's will. I posted a summary of the Lord's inward leading from the...

Re: How do you know the Lord's leading?

There is a much simpler reason why I have not addressed your critique here - this thread is not about the Psalms and we have already discussed this topic at length in other threads, in particular,...

Not in detail, but more to the point - why is that not being discussed in here?

Re: Attending Different Churches: Divisive attitudes

The Reformation is over. The degradation has begun.

Most churches that were born out of the Reformation are now ordaining gay priests and blessing gay unions. Even the "Mother" Catholic church is...

Re: Whistleblower

OK so you've given them a voice now where are the voices? Can we count them? How many voices can we see here?

As Drake pointed out, so far nothing relevant has been discussed other than goings...

Re: Attending Different Churches: Divisive attitudes

Having the freedom to attend any assembly and the legitimacy of an assembly - that's a different matter entirely. People have the freedom to meet in illegitimate churches if they choose to.

Re: How do you know the Lord's leading?

A better question is why are you so fixated on the Psalms and is it really such a big deal? Maybe everyone else thought nothing of it and you, well, everyone has their peculiarities and obsessions.

Re: How do you know the Lord's leading?

Not everything the Psalmist wrote is of the New Covenant/New Testament. For example, Psalm 139, which I referred to in my previous post, is a wonderful Psalm, about God's tender loving care, being...

Re: How do you know the Lord's leading?

To help us make choices about matters which are not clearly right/wrong or good/evil we have the indwelling and the anointing:

1. The indwelling (Romans 8:11)
2. The anointing (John 16:13, 1 John...

We were already in agreement about those Scriptures so I am not sure what you are talking about "Instead of addressing the scriptures I presented from Corinthians".

Taking another look at 1 Cor...

Agreed. As there is no rule about it, it falls under the topic of conscience and stumbling, at best. At worst, it falls under the topic of profanity and sacrilege (e.g. Catholic "unworthy...

Re: Hi From Cincy

Or maybe we were astonished that you would draw comparisons with the Holocaust, and raise the matter of sexual abuse, both of which have nothing to do with the topic.

But since this has become a...
