Re: Politics and the Church

I do think news plays a big role. Turn off the news and you're somewhat unaffected by the narrative. The news are by and large anti-conservative 24/7. I do think the hatred for Trump is so strong,...

Re: STUDY: White Police Officers NOT more likely to Kill Minorities

You had David Dorn (killed by looters), Dave Underwood, Itialia Kelly (by a rioter), David McAtee (by police), Chris Beaty (thieves). Not to mention numbers more in Chicago and elsewhere. Lives;...

Re: Coronavirus Powergrab?

No, no, no. Ohio, you need to understand "bots" is a word in LC terminology known as "opposer". If there's an undesirable view, it's discarded as "oh, that's due to bots".

Re: What a Lack of Increase Really Means for the LC

I'm sure of it. It's more of a time to get reconnected socially. Ministry speak is a lot of lip service. Sure you could invest in the latest ministry publications and never read. There are people and...

Re: What a Lack of Increase Really Means for the LC

Direction, content, and yes tone is top down. Tone of the locality is influenced by the lead elder. However the tone of his speaking is, most of the locality will follow suit. If he wants to minister...

Re: I left the Local Church After Reading the Real Church History

Good points all and where should I begin?

Oh, their music is contemporary - my words on this topic has often fallen on deaf ears. Just because a certain brother or sister didn't compose the...

Re: My Confused Adulthood

I think that's normal behavior. Problem is if one is an introvert, you'll always be like paint on a wall. Just part of the background. Elder or not; trying to gain approval is feeble. Personal...

Re: YouTube Channel Discusses the Local Church

I think it's a fair question to ask, if the recovery is the best why are so many children raised in the Local Churches end up in fellowship with non-LC Christian congregations?

Re: What a Lack of Increase Really Means for the LC

That situation would be even more difficult to meet anywhere else. One could grow up in the local churches, have their brother, sisters, nieces, and nephews in the nearby localities. It becomes an...

Re: Responsibility of Christians Responding to Aberrant/Abusive Groups

Just like the MSM networks, the LC does a lot of spinning the narrative.
If you speak to one's personal experiences, on the surface, "it's your experience". By no means is t meant to imply your...

Re: The Shunning

Many thoughts on shunning. It shows the system is more important than human relationships. Severed in an instant. I suppose the LC term for shunning is inoculation don't you think? Inoculation from...

Re: What a Lack of Increase Really Means for the LC

Ohio, yes I could see that too. Parents in the same locality since 1979. Now with all my siblings living considerable distance away, I'm thankful for the social interaction my mom has. In their...

Re: What a Lack of Increase Really Means for the LC

They say "there is nowhere else to go". There are plenty of places to go. The catch is having to start all over building church "social interactions". It's easy to go meet at a church where you know...

Re: Erroneous teaching of Lee concerning natural affection

How I perceived LC practice of natural affection similar to Luke 6:32. It's common to love those who love the ministry, yet as soon as any element of the ministry is questioned, one is turned on in...

Re: I left the Local Church After Reading the Real Church History

They've been conditioned for years of not being able to go anywhere else.
There's no trying. Being told for years, "we have all the riches". Results in pride. Being told "here in the local churches...

Re: Politics and the Church

How is this pandemic different from other pandemics the past ten years?
Media pushing panic. Hoax is in the media's spin. Hoax is in the faulty tests. How can a fruit as in the pawpaw fruit test...

Re: What a Lack of Increase Really Means for the LC

Your post Freedom, made me consider perhaps LC elders knew whatever the latest flow may be is nothing but folly. Yet the comply and go along with it as lip service, but are not truly 100% behind it....

Re: YouTube Channel Discusses the Local Church

Me too! The first thought I had was FTTA. I never attended, but I heard stories of insufficient sleep. I'm in the opinion insufficient sleep can lead to physical health/mental health issues. ...

Re: POLL: How do you generally view the LC?

I've seen it happen. That's one of the criticisms of "everyone speaking". The leaders would rather have it go on than to correct the speaker.

Re: POLL: How do you generally view the LC?

I would have to go back when I was still in high school (85/86) as the last time I heard the gospel of Jesus in a LC setting.

Lack of An Increase

If it's asked inquisitively or rhetorically, do elders/co-workers really want to hear an answer?
Just as Nell said, "listen to your critics". I would say there is a "Drip! Drip! Drip!" effect...

Re: What a Lack of Increase Really Means for the LC

That's what makes LC's a ministry churches and not local churches. Those who share a vision for the ministry, it becomes a seamless transition. As to say "we love those who love the ministry".

Re: Politics and the Church

It's been said 6 companies control 90% of the news outlets. If there's truth to it or not, I don't know. I cannot watch Fox, CNN, MSNBC. I consider myself a Libertarian Conservative yet my dad is...
