Re: Praise/Worship Song of the Day! Turn Up Your Speakers!

Unto,

"I know who goes before me . . . ."

Great song.

Just needs a key other than the one Chris sings it in.

Re: Praise/Worship Song of the Day! Turn Up Your Speakers!

I see "The Servant King" is up on the side banner. This is one of the more significant modern hymns that I have come to know in recent years. Covers the gospel and the charge to serve one another in...

Re: Favorite Hymns Of Mine

I like the song. I just wish it didn't generally come out so bouncy. Not that bouncy is not at least somewhat appropriate. Just that 6/8 beat of 1 2 3 4 5 6 1 2 3 . . . . sort of has a thing of its...

Re: Favorite Hymns Of Mine

I was reading back through this thread and noted that at one point I started talking about "How Great Thou Are" when I obviously meant "Great is thy Faithfulness.

But I was also thinking about...

Re: Favorite hymns of mine

The videos were not really important. If you notice, the band is not making a show. The recording is simply being made from a camera and a microphone in the sound booth area (not directly off the...

Re: Favorite hymns of mine

I do like the doxology. I also like "Holy, Holy, Holy." While not entirely on the Father, I have enjoyed a setting in which the modern worship hymn "Revelation Song" (Worthy is the Lamb who was...

Re: Favorite hymns of mine

I don't have reference to the Sara Groves song at the moment, but I recall both the intro's "hints" and the interlude a little. I think the Groves song has three verses. In any case, my initial...

Re: Favorite hymns of mine

"How Great Thou Art" is among the best hymns. I have also recent come across a song by Sara Groves, "He's Always Been Faithful," that fits with it so nicely. I have even contemplated a choir...

Re: Favorite hymns of mine

It was hard not to listen to one of the others nearby on the page. I started one and was greeted by a stringing of LCM catchphrases. By the end of about 4 lines there had been mention of God's...

Re: Favorite hymns of mine

I do like them. But they are so hard to remember because even the "traditional" services tend toward collections that they rotate through.

But one thing about older hymns is that they tend to be...

Re: Favorite hymns of mine

I don't necessarily like the videos that come with some of these, but here are a few favorite songs for worship, both modern and older.

Re: If We are the Body

Most peculiar. I linked from that previous attempt and listened to the song. (And a good one it is.)

I sort of had a sense of deja vu when I saw your more recent post and none prior to it after...

Re: EVERYONE NEEDS COMPASSION

I must agree on this song. And the passion of singing about God's compassion somehow screams for the sound and feel of an 80s rock ballad to display that passion.
