Re: Late 1970s Boston "storm"

Thanks! I'm looking for the "edit" function so I can remove my assumption there. My intention is to understand the events so I can understand the people. I apologize for my error.

Is it not...

Late 1970s Boston "storm"

Help! What was the "storm" in Boston in the late 1970s? Based on what I've read on this site, I'm under the impression that it was related to Boston-based Sal Benoit calling WL out on Daystar. I'm...

Not all I! I was heartily agreeing with you and my message was meant to second your post. Thank you so very much for all your ministering on this board.

Re: My personal testimony [TW: sexual assault]

HELP! On counseling. :(

If you have sought out counseling in association with experiences in the Local Churches, how did you do it?

After almost three decades of aligning with behavior, thought...

Re: Hope for all you church kids

Yes! When guided away from wrestling with faith, how could faith remain anything but superficial? When shielded like children, how can believers attain maturity?

In contrast:

And a man...

I'm throwing out....the need to get or give a resounding AMEN after every uttered phrase!

I've been told over the years that I use A LOT of spoken fillers. I didn't realize how much until I...

Thank you for this word. There was a lot that I truly enjoyed in WL's ministry, I did I did. And there was a lot that I thought was a bit off the wall and at odds with the Word. I learned to take...

I had not previously read through the Faithful Word website. Yikes!!! How appalling. It makes it clear to me that LR movement had cut itself off quite some time ago: "In 1986 Brother Lee issued a...

Re: Whistleblower

When I was meeting with the LCs and the hymn "I'm so happy in this lovely place" was called, I would laugh and roll my eyes. I wasn't "happy" and this place wasn't "lovely" but that's not why I was...

Re: Recovering from the Recovery - Requesting your Insight

I'm so sorry to hear about your son. What motivates him? Why has he joined and quit anything else in the past? For me, I am very values-driven and I finally left the LC people I loved and respected...

Re: "A Brief History of the Lord's Move in Europe"

The funniest thing is how this document cites Lee and only Lee so heavily on each page ("then as Brother Lee points out"), as if he was the only person to cover the history of the Reformation. As a...

Re: How Many Are Former Members Of The Local Church

This made me cry, mostly about how complicit I was in the system. I had a set of "sister skirts" set aside for meetings. I practiced my "prophesying" so I could best come across as a good sister. I...
