Re: My perspective
I'm just going to put it out there:

Still at it, eh?
Grace to you all, but this morning I was reminded that the Lord still speaks in my speaking. I don't know why I was led here after that but I'm definitely not settling in to...

Setting aside for the moment how much Christ may or may not have been "dispensed" during trainings and other Local Church activities, "deprogramming" is nothing more than counter-brainwashing and I'm...

The "prudent wisdom" you seek is in the words of scripture, Ohio.
Don't worry about what the separate camps use to separate themselves...

Re: The Cost
Quoting verses out of context to support my opinion or to refute those of another is a religious game I don't play any more.
I'm sorry you think that's what I was doing.
Grace to you.

Brother?
I don't believe this is "neutral" with regard to Paul's teaching on how to have tongues in the Christian meeting, is it?
If someone says, as one prominent local pastor told me one...

Paul gives explicit instructions on how to handle it in a meeting. I'm neither for nor against for my own part but if you're going to do it different from the...

Re: The Cost
I just recently saw clearly that 1 Cor. 13 comes between chapters 12 and 14.
The "Love Chapter" is all about how we meet.
Marriage is nowhere mentioned in that chapter and teaching it as if...

Re: My open apology--To those who have gone before
Today I finally understood 1 Cor. 13's placement between chapters 12 and 14.
The whole section is just Paul admonishing the Corinthian believers to grow up and meet together in authentic Christian...

That is the filter I've also had for some time now and that's at least the larger part of how everyone in a religious bondage of one kind or another got themselves there.
I'm not leaving that...

Well, not to quibble, but Matthew can at least reasonably be read to agree with John on who it was that wanted to kill Jesus:
My point was that sweeping term is John's, which I was surprised...
