Re: Pray-Reading is Scriptural
My view is that scripture can be used as a basis for conversation with God since scripture is God's spoken word.
But simply plucking one verse to pray-read (e.g. just selecting the one or two...

Re: Morning Revival
Hi Drake
I was referring to HWMR titled "The Genuine Church Life" (based on 2017 Thanksgiving Weekend Conference) and "The Recovery of the Church" (based on ITERO Oct 2017) which both state both...

Morning Revival
These days, the Morning Revival books' covers state both Witness Lee and Watchman Nee's names (as authors).
Previously, it was always only Witness Lee's name.
Anyone knows why there is a change?

Re: Mere Christianity or Degraded Christianity?
I don't think CS Lewis or any of the posters in this forum are saying that the "many rooms in the Father's house" in John 14 v 2 refer to the many denominations.
Both CS Lewis and Jesus used rooms...

Re: Mere Christianity or Degraded Christianity?
I have no problem with the analogy of Christianity as one hall with different rooms.
The apostle Paul likens the church to a human body with different members. A finger would look different from a...

It is an ominous sign to me that she seems to be very much into the LSM, while you aren't.
How about her father's ministry? Do you find it to be spiritually edifying? If yes, perhaps you could...

Re: What is God's Economy?
I am curious to know in which books did Lee say that expressing God is in the context of God's nature and character.
In Chapter 3 section 3 of "The Intrinsic View of the Body of Christ", Witness...

Re: What is God's Economy?
A believer's relationship with God is tested when things are not going well in his life.
He may be at a struggle to understand why God is letting this thing happen to him. His emotions may be at a...

The Lord's Recovery's hymnal's hymns 10-55 fall under the section "Worship of the Father"
In the local church I am at, (and I think this is characteristic of LSM churches), we close the Lord's...

Re: What is worship
I agree with you to some extent:-
1) Sacrifice can be part of worship (see also Romans 12:1).
2) It is possible for people to get carried away by the music tunes/melody and be detracted from...

Re: What is God's Economy?
I agree with you that Christians are to trust and obey God even when they do not understand. After all, we are men with finite knowledge and understanding. We do not see the big picture as God does....

Re: What is God's Economy?
Yes, this is a point I also share: - Expressing God is showing an attribute of God (e.g. his love/righteousness). When we love others or live a righteous life, we are expressing God.
Expressing...

Re: What is God's Economy?
Simply telling a Christian to "be a good person and do good things" is incomplete. It might be burdensome (As the Israelites in the Old Testament have shown, we cannot keep all the commandments by...

Re: Witness Lee and AW Tozer
I agree that scripture can at times be misunderstood and misapplied.
For example, John 14 v 14 says "You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." It is possible for someone to not...
