Certainly does seem this covid has a mind of its own. Foreknowledge to avoid protests, riots, Home Depot, Lowe's, Kroger, Safeway, casinos, etc. As it comes to businesses of sole proprietors, restaurant chains, churches, mosques, GOP rallies, that's when people get infected.
If masks are so effective, we as a society should be forgoing seasonal flu shots in favor of masks.
Yes we are like sheep until we wake up. Meaning no longer believing news reports. In that sense the mainstream media and LSM are very similar: I do not believe what I am told.

Aren't you so surprised how protective this virus is towards liberal causes like the 60 straight days of rioting in Portland? Now, more than ever, I too am suspicious of what we are being told.

This article today about wearing masks caught my attention, confirming many of my suspicions for months.

Recently my wife got a stomach flu. About the time I thought about getting tested for Covid, I read about that Kentucky couple placed under house arrest for not agreeing with extreme Covid regulations. Would you obey this secretary of health official who used to be a man?

So now we get into whether or not to obey governmental officials. Doesn't Jesus and Paul both have something to say about this? :D I'm sure there were plenty of reasons to not align with the things the Roman government of the day were implementing, right? But my understanding is that unless it goes against a specific article of the Christian faith, then to obey the government.

I thought we lived in a constitutional republic where laws are enacted by elected officials in the legislature, not tyrants lusting for power.

What about what Peter said in Acts 5.29, "It is necessary to obey God rather than man?"

I don't know that you were not obeying the government. I was responding to what you said about an apparent transgender government official, and possibly not wishing to comply with them.

So if the government comes for our guns, should we give them? As much as I want to rise up to loudly say "NO!", since it's clearly my constitutional right to own guns, is this something that is going hurt my Christian testimony? In this case there would likely be many unbelievers who also would resist giving up their guns, but nothing of Christ is testified there, right?

Now when Peter and the others were told not to preach Jesus, they didn't comply, because this was a testimony thing. And in this case God's will was specifically different and higher than man's government.

My study of church history has shown a vast array of responses to government persecution and concerns for their Christian testimony. Some simply took the pattern of the Lamb of God and bravely faced torture and death. Some, like the Waldensians, formed community armed militias to protect their families and defend their homes.

Whether it is an unruly mob, or official agents of some corrupt authority (e.g. the Pope), the Christian victims must face the inevitable -- what will I do when they come to destroy my home and kill my loved ones. Each of us have some "line in the sand" which determines how much we will endure. An individual Christian may act differently when confronting violence alone than when evil comes knocking on his door wanting his wife and children too. An individual Christian may also act differently after witnessing how other Christians have been hurt, so his "line in the sand" may change over time.

I don't think it is fair for us to judge the actions other Christians when facing danger and death simply for their faith. Each Christian is responsible to his/her Lord. Obedience and faithfulness to the Lord produces the best Christian testimony.

Gov. Newsom would have the church and church practices under state control. Mr. MacArthur rightly proclaims that under the constitution, the state has NO right to dictate church practices.
Christian Lives Matter, I’m so glad a church leader finally stood up and says Newsom, get your knee off our necks! I would that all of Gods people were so clear and bold.

I saw that. Gov Newsom changes his tune depending on the situation. Yet Lowe's and Home Depot, not a problem. The winery Gov Newsom has a ownership stake in, not a problem.
I was at Costco yesterday in Fontana, Ca. Sure entrance was regulated, but those waiting to go inside, it was as if everything returned to normal. No social distancing, but wearing masks. How is it that cannot be done in churches?

We live in a nation with constitutional rights. Free informed people have the right to make informed personal choices on how to conduct their lives.
COVID-19 is not typhoid. A 2 week stay at home to get a handle on the situation was understandable. A 4 month suspension of constitutional rights is unacceptable. Newsom should be recalled- he does not know how to govern in a constitutional society.

Yes, but you live in Arizona- California is a whole different beast. I know a number of people, who in the last couple of years have moved to Arizona because they could no longer tolerate results of bad Ca. governance.
The church is the gathering together of the called out ones. The constitution guarantees our freedom of religion- it was one of the freedoms our founders wanted to protect. Now the gov. of CA is saying we do not have the right to gather. It seems to me that all Christians in CA should be loudly protesting this infringement. It is the job of government to protect those rights, not to curtail them. There is a protest gathering here in San Diego this evening; I for one plan to attend.

People whine about 2-Party "gridlocks," but California is proof that a single Party wielding power will destroy itself.

I have always thought that "gridlock" was a great thing, since politicians doing nothing is better than politicians doing bad things.

The time will come when Christians will be forced to honor Acts 5.29 over Romans 13.1. The Lord will use this to separate the "sheep" from the "goats."

I remember when I used to be so frustrated about how slow things moved in DC. But then I realized the same thing - it's usually good that things in the federal government don't move so fast!

I have 2 family members who manage staffs in hospitals, OH and FL, and both told us recently that their hospitals had zero cases.

Others have told us how they have seen Covid numbers continually exaggerated and fabricated. One was recently widowed, and told the medical staff, "don't you dare put Covid on my husband's death certificate, because I know better."

It is just as easy to buy off a scientist as it is a politician.

The real hospital crisis is declaring a pause on routine services and procedures. As hospitals were reopened for these patients, that was overwhelming the hospital professionals.

Libertarian party represents that which the Democratic party used to, but no longer does......Civil Liberties. It's only due to lack of advertising dollars does it appear the Libertarian party doesn't have any traction, Yet really, they should be attracting those who have been lifelong Democrats.
Today many affiliated with the Democratic party system are truly fascists. They want to get rid of the 1st and 2nd Amendment for starters if not the entire Constitution. Control over free speech and right to bear arms will enable them to impose their will and run roughshod over all people. There is one word that describes their "rule with mobs, intimidation, and group imposed mentality" and that is entitlement. They are like undisciplined spoiled children. Some of these kids would be greatly benefited by some public caning, like they did in Singapore to that brat who vandalized cars. Remember how Pres. Clinton even got involved? We were supposedly a more "advanced" country who would never do such a thing. Under Clinton, America over-reacted to Singapore's strict laws.

Two other things also happened about the same time. Corporal punishment (aka spanking) became basically outlawed in schools and in homes, to be replaced by an ineffective "time out," which has now been replaced by the more worthless practice of "redirecting." And in Congress, Sen. Joe Biden spearheaded more severe punishments for blacks in his now infamous Crime Bill of 1994.

Look at the result today after a quarter century of "field testing." BLM is protesting unequal justice for blacks, and out-of-control ANTIFA whites have become anarchist rioters. Biden's Crime Bill gave much stiffer sentences for Blacks on crack cocaine than for Whites on powder cocaine. Same drug, same crime, different sentences based on skin color. Trump alone has made serious corrections to this injustice with the First Step Act. Obama/Holder did nothing about it.

Study all of the facts here! Do a decent study of history! Gather up all of the info on Biden and Trump going back 50 years! Joe Biden is the actual RACIST that they constantly accuse Trump of being. The media hides all of Biden's racist remarks and legislation, all the while fabricating a propaganda smear job on Trump.

If I say that covid shutdowns have done more harm than good, then I am a murderer and anti-science. But every indicator says that. When we say "science" how can we limit ourselves to only a couple of specialized scientists, without peer review, or even public discourse.

Since when did we vote to make Dr. Fauci our Dictator? When I learned that he sent $Millions to this Chinese bio-warfare laboratory to study bat-viruses, I lost all respect for the character. Based on his past actions and notable associations, I think he should be tried for treason.

Here is my COVID-19 conspiracy theory #505.

I’ve been thinking about the last year and what’s what, particularly with this COVID thing, and the election. If I look at the WHO COVID-19 statistics China has like 92,000 cases an 5000 deaths. The US has 11 million cases and 250,000 deaths. We live in a controlled state now, where edicts come out, and the news media is in total propaganda mode. Same in Europe.
Then there is this whole election thing, where one candidate was pretty much hidden and just gave sound bites and the media is in total propaganda mode.

So my conspiracy theory is, what if pretty much the whole world was subject to a biological attack and we have lost the war? What if the western world was beaten by the Chinese Communists government, capitulated, and is now being slowly, or somewhat slowly turned down, and in the near future, the propaganda machine will explain that we, and the western world are no longer free sovereign nations but are under the control of the Chinese Communist government and if we want to go on in any fashion we will go along completely and peaceable with the total take over. How is it that churches are pretty much non operational, state governments are in chaos, the US is in deep debt, and everyone pretty much repeats the same line of “ go along with the program”. I suspect the next step will be some sort of civil war, and puppet rulers will be installed as our leaders, people that are subservient to the Communist Party- probably people like Obama.

Should I write a conspiracy novel, or is this what’s going on in real time?

I think it shows how quickly things can change. I usually think that the USA is so strong in its freedoms, but events in this past year shows me how weak any manmade foundation is - even one so lofty as the idea behind our country's foundation. And these events show how remarkably fast it can be changed and subjected to some sort of tyranny.

I keep seeing the picture at the end of the old "Planet of the Apes" movie, where Charlton Heston's character discovers the top of the Statue of Liberty sticking out of the sand in a shoreline he's walking along. It suddenly dawns on him that we blew it badly . . .

So the WHO statistic web site on Chine says they have 4749 deaths- whats’s their population? Over 1 billion? Does anyone not see a major concern with this? It’s what is listed on the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 site that is readily available for all to look at. If China is so vastly under reporting their numbers, why is there not a public disdain in the media and the CDC and our government. If the numbers are correct for China, then what’s wrong with with our practice? Why is the western world overwhelmed with the whole thing and China gets a pass? The people of China are already subservient to “the People’s Party”: freedom of movement, freedom of press, freedom of speech, freedom of religion are only there if you submit to the Party Line. Is not the same thing forming here in the USA? COVID seems to be the catalyst for changing our country from rights that were from our creator, and from a government that was based on these rights as spelled out in our constitution, to freedom only if the government allows it. All must submit to the government.
And this is based on number counts of a virus, which the WHO says is very little in China, but devastating the western world. If the numbers lie, then we have a major problem. If the numbers are correct, then we have a totally inept CDC and health practice. The institution we rely on to make informed choices is the news media- freedom of the press- I don’t see press questioning or explaining this, but rather seem to be propagandists.

To say God will handle this, don’t worry, doesn’t reflect history, either secular or religious. The USA constitution came out of men and women who stood up to demand freedom as a God given gift.
