Re: Greetings from a current LC member

To wax "spiritual" here - scripture says that He has broken down the middle wall between us. So all else is really just a lie! However, we either cling to Him and His truth . . . or to a lie that there are things separating us.

Here's how Adam is: At the hearing of the slightest word from another that is just a degree sideways to our established thinking, we usually get defensive and think we have to put up some barrier to protect ourselves. Silly man! (We have no hope apart from Christ - in Him we can now simply put off that unproductive manner like an old garment!)

Sidebar: What is happening in US politics with its extreme and irrational polarization is a testament to Adam's nature . . . (really that of his father BTW). Think this ridiculous behavior is unique to the secular (i.e., non-Christian) world? Think again! In Adam, no matter how good he tries to be, the result is always separation. (and if you think to yourself, "Well it's them that are being extreme and ridiculous," that's Adam)

Sorry if that was a little too heavenly minded to be of earthly good, but that's what came out!

“We are (hopefully) all citizens of the same Kingdom, the Kingdom of God. This is the most basic, unbreakable relationship we have with each other as Christians - as joint heirs of the Kingdom of God. I think if we former and current Local Churchers can somehow, some way keep this relationship . . . .”

Amen Adam!

May we all remain focused on the redeemer of our souls for everything!
Then nothing can separate us from the love of god and our love for one another will not wax cold!

Re:There is a stronghold

It's good to have you here, Adam! in a spirit of love and fellowship that builds up.

You quoted UntoHim: “There is little doubt that there is a substantial wall between current and former members of the Local Church Movement. There is also little doubt that current members believe that it is us, the former members, who have erected the wall, while we former members believe that it is they who have put up the wall.”

Welcome Adam. Glad you are here!
The quote above by Trapped makes a STRONG and valid point.

Letter from John Ingalls

Dear Brother Steve,

Thank you for your letters. I especially appreciated reading the letter you wrote to Joel. I want to commend you for your forthrightness, honesty, boldness, uprightness, maintaining a right spirit. I felt that the way you addressed all the issues with Joel hit the mark. Their consciences should be touched; if not, there is something seriously wrong.

We have been praying for you and also for the brothers you are confronting. We have prayed the Lord would have mercy on them. I want to encourage you, brother, to pursue the burden the Lord has placed upon you. There is no way at the present time for brothers like Bill Mallon and myself to do anything directly to reach out to these brothers. Perhaps the Lord will use you to open the door or create a breach in the wall. May His will be done. There is a fortified stronghold built up that is not easy to penetrate….

To have fellowship with brothers in Christ in the Spirit and in brotherly love is a priceless heritage of ours. It is a pity that this could be obstructed and rendered not only inoperative but impossible to activate.” (my emphasis with bold print)

First, I wish to thank UntoHim for his labor in managing the website and discussions. As I mentioned to him earlier I found the discussions enlightening and I believe this is a great service to the Lord for former and current members.

Second, I wish to thank all the members for “sharing” so much of your past and present experiences in the Lord and supplying/contributing verses from the Bible accordingly and appropriately.

UntoHim said sometime ago:

“There are a few current LC members who participate. We would be happy and honored if you would consider registering and participating as much as your time and interest allows. We welcome EVERYONE, current or former members, but we especially want and NEED current members...even if they only want to come and "straighten us out"!

I am a current member (in the LC), so as you can see I cannot give a detailed testimony, for obvious reasons, implying that there may be some truth (if not a lot) to what is mentioned (shared) on this forum regarding the participation of current members. But I am not here to “straighten you out” for I believe what UntoHim said,

“We are (hopefully) all citizens of the same Kingdom, the Kingdom of God. This is the most basic, unbreakable relationship we have with each other as Christians - as joint heirs of the Kingdom of God. I think if we former and current Local Churchers can somehow, some way keep this relationship . . . .”

I realize this is wishful thinking (although I hope -- no I pray -- that I am mistaken!) as UntoHim also said,

“There is little doubt that there is a substantial wall between current and former members of the Local Church Movement. There is also little doubt that current members believe that it is us, the former members, who have erected the wall, while we former members believe that it is they who have put up the wall.”

I believe the “substantial wall” mentioned here is an attack set up by the enemy to divide God’s children. However, I agree with UntoHim when he said, “ If we really care for the people on the other side of the wall, we will treat them with the dignity and respect they deserve, and which God calls us to give to all men, "especially to those of the household of faith" (Gal 6:10)

I wish to encourage you all to continue to really care (by shepherding, sharing, with love and compassion) for people on BOTH sides of the wall, and treat them with the dignity and respect they deserve, and which God calls us to give to all men. . . “to do what is good toward all, but especially toward (to) those of the household of (the) faith.” (Gal 6:10)

Amen.
Welcome Adam. I hope you find good fellowship with others on this site regardless of their stance about Witness Lee and The Lord’s Recovery.

I welcome the opportunity to strive together with you for the advancement of the gospel

Blessings in Jesus our Lord.

Hear! Hear! Amen to all that!

It's been my experience that the LCer's are the ones putting up the wall. Is it the devils' doing, to divide the saints?

I don't and didn't put up a wall. They, the LCer's did. That was my experience. It's also been my experience that there are many wonderful brothers and sister in the LC. They're certainly not any worse than those in other Christian groups ... nor better.

And I don't think we on this forum put up a wall. It would be great if we had more members join us. It would be great to get their take on our discussions. We could prolly use the balance. And it would likely change our opinion of the LC if LCer's could drop their wall.

The wall makes the LC look like a cult. And is why some if not many of those in the wider Christian community consider it to be one.

So I guess the question is : Why a wall? For the sake of the Kingdom that's what needs to be addressed. Can't we all just get along? It's nice to have you with us Adam.

Re: Greetings from a current LC member

Yes, I still meet in the LC. I was cautious about clarifying that as I am still sorting out my thoughts regarding it. I still have close family members that have been there for many years. My experiences haven't been so negative as others have described. I used to believe that only with Lee's ministry would I go on with the Lord, but I have seen this is not so.
A lot depends on what locality you're in. There has not been any major uproars I'm aware of since 2006. The emphasis is still on being with the LSM publishing of all of Lee's ministry and direction. That means trainings, conferences, FTTS, HWFMR, etc.
which is all about his ministry.
I've concluded that the situation of the church (all believers) is as described in Revelations 2 and that we somehow have to follow the Lord to acquire what He says is overcoming. The Lord allows the conditions in Rev 7 to continue to the end of the age.

Thank you for registering Adam, and we look forward to your participation! Many of us have hoped and prayed for more current Local Church members to come and participate in the discussions. Of course we realize that "the brothers" have long discouraged current LC members from even lurking on our forum, so we all appreciate the courage and fortitude that it take for someone like you to step forward. May the Lord honor your stepping forward and encourage others as well. I hope and pray that you will not be "the last Adam" and that other current members will come register and participate.
