Re: Appreciation for the Lord's recovery.

Yes, it is the height of hubris to say, "We are the Lord's Recovery!" Sure, lots haywire with Christendom that can be pointed out, but to what purpose? So we can collect ourselves apart from others and revel in the fact that we're in a better place than they? Pride - hubris - division - flesh. Lord save us!

Christ is building His church, and He is able to handle all the "haywire" stuff!

The error embedded in the concept of "The Lord's recovery" as a special demarcated entity apart from "fallen and degraded Christianity" has two suppositions which don't turn out to be real.

First, as noted above, they suppose that God can't do much outside of their delineated sphere of "proper local church life". Degradation is outside, recovery inside. Poor, poor Christianity... too poor. That was the line I heard from the podium.

Second was that since we were "[biblically] normal" and "proper" and "genuine" (as opposed to all else), that whatever we did would prosper, a la Psalm 1:3. For evidence of this concept I point to the word that James Barber, one of the "leading ones", told Don Rutledge, when Daystar was proposed. Don't question, just do what you're told (and hand over your cash to son Timothy & Lee's inner circle) and there will be a great blessing.

Appreciation for the Lord's recovery.

I had an awakening after few years of being in the Lord's recovery. The Lord's recovery (big capital L) is His work and it must be seen in the reality. It includes His work in all the believers on the entire earth. I've starting to appreciate His work of constantly recovering and reshaping His church throughout the history. What the Lord's recovery is not, it is not limited to a group who claim to be the lord's recovery (small capital l) . For me, they are the division of the body, caused by their attitudes and teaching by their leaders. If you observe the history, many groups existed as restorationist, including the Mormon and Jehovah's Witnesses. They have extra biblical 'seeing' from the orthodox.

The truth has to remain as truth, because it is the truth, no extra efforts needed to maintain it because the Lord will keep the truth. It can't be 0.1 plus 0.1 equal to 2. Only 1 + 1 can be equal to 2, and we have to defend the truth.

Meeting in a division causing the believers to live in a deception. I was living like so when I was taught the entire protestant believers went off of God's move, and that there are no overcomers (the victorious believers in the book of relevation) outside of the LC.

It is hard to blame those who teach the wrong doctrine, because man make mistakes due to their limitation. Although I had a negative experience in the LC and left, I'm able to feel the peace and continue my Christian journey. Don't worry, if we are the true elect we will make it into the kingdom of God because God is sovereign.
