If you have an emergency or believe you are in a crisis situation, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately.

The Suicide Prevention Lifeline (https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/) connects callers to trained crisis counselors 24/7. They also provide a chat function on their website. Phone: 800-273-8255

To find help in a crisis, The National Alliance on Mental Illness hotline: 800-950-NAMI info@nami.org M-F, 10 AM - 6 PM ET or "text" NAMI to 741741

Resources recommended by other ex-LC members are posted at: https://www.mylocalchurchexperience.com/

Please know that there are a multitude of resources for Christians and people-of-faith and for secular alike. You are not alone on this journey. We care about you!

Make the phone call, write the text. You are loved. You are important. You are worth it. You will look back at this moment years down the road and realize your decision to reach out now made all the difference. Thank you!

Thanks for this post eDh22.

The Local Church experience is kind of like serving in the military. Some soldiers return from service and do just fine, but many others suffer PTSD lifelong.
