What is Love

You can moderate kindness
You can moderate giving
You can moderate smartness
You can moderate your fulfillment
You can moderate laughter
You can moderate devotion
But there is one thing that you can’t moderate
That’s the Love of God that He puts in your heart!

You can try all your life, and be better than others
You can give yourself to the wind, until it comes down
You can moderate suffering, and moderate your lifestyle
But there is one thing that you can’t moderate
That’s the the Love of God He puts in your heart!

When the Love of God comes and fills your heart,
The blind will see it!
You won’t need to get warmth and bread
For it is the warmth and bread!
And even if the cross is offered, it will take the cross,
For there is only one thing that can save us all,
That’s the Love of God, and only the Love of God!

You can moderate faith
You can moderate waiting
You can spend half your life knocking on the door that will never open
You can teach your heart to be cold and frozen,
But there is one thing that you can’t teach it,
That’s the the Love of God He puts in your heart!

For,
When the Love of God comes and fills your heart,
The blind will see it!
You won’t need to get warmth and bread
For it is the warmth and bread!
And even if the cross is offered, it will take the cross,
For there is only one thing that can save us all,
That’s the Love of God, and only the Love of God!

God bless you all, and May He fill people with His true love for people who have never experienced any in the local church.

Gosh ... what is love? Love happens to all of us, even if not knowing why, or from where it comes. Could be energy in the universe ... for all we know.

But ... it's actually the Love of God.

Thanks What is Love ....

Here's a good one that I think relates:

I was just a mere boy when converted, hardly ten years old. There isn't much of a story to it. God just came into my heart one afternoon while I was alone in the 'loft' of our big barn while I was shelling corn to carry to the mill to be ground into meal.

A dear little white boy, one of our neighbors, about my age came by one Saturday morning, and in talking and playing he told me he was going to Sunday school tomorrow morning. I was eager to know what a Sunday school was. He said they sang hymns and prayed. I asked him what prayer was and what they said. I do not remember what he said; only remember that as soon as he left I climbed up into the 'loft,' knelt down by the barrel of corn and prayed as best I could. I do not remember what I said. I only recall that I felt so good that I prayed several times before I quit.

My brother and myself were the only colored children in that neighborhood and of course, we could not go to church or Sunday school, or school of any kind.

That was my simple conversion, and I have tried to keep the faith.

The apostle John answers the question, “what is love” then challenges us to love our brother, just like Jesus did.

Actually, the apostle John repeats Jesus’ commandment (that we should love one another) and answers what love is.

1 John 4:7-21 (Berean Literal Bible)

Beloved we should love one another, because love is from God; and everyone loving has been born from God and knows God. The one not loving has not known God, because God is love.
In this the love of God has been revealed among us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son as a propitiation for our sins.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time; if we should love one another, God abides in us, and His love is having been perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us: because He has given to us from out of His Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.
Whoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have come to know and have come to believe the love that God has as to us. God is love, and the one abiding in love abides in God, and God abides in him. In this love has been perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment that, just as He is, also are we in this world.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment; and the one fearing has not been perfected in love. We love because He first loved us.
If anyone should say, “I love God,” and should hate his brother, he is a liar. For the one not loving his brother, whom he has seen, is not able to love God, whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from Him, that the one loving God should love his brother also.

Ya, that. :yep:
